The Only Guide you need for a Trip to Manali

 The Manali Trip

In this blog I'll be sharing my Trip experience to Manali and how I managed to cut down the cost for the trip. But before we get into the numbers lets checkout the list of Hotspots you must visit and be ready for the same.

Must visit Tourist Spots:

  • The Mall Road: The center of attraction for tourists is the Mall Road of Manali, you get the whole range from showrooms to local vendors selling the authentic clothing of Hill Stations and diverse restaurants. It is the best place to buy souvenirs from. I would suggest to carry some extra bucks $$ with you because somethings just catch your eye here.

  • Hadimba Devi Temple: The location and its beauty speaks for itself. It's a must visit spot for all the tourists, the vibe and energy , it just can't be expressed in words. After blessings you can proceed to the adjacent Van Vihar which is a great spot to capture photos.

  • Solang Valley: If you want to experience the great 360 view of snow covered mountains and a valley running between them, then this is your spot. Pack heavy if you visiting in winters because the wind is like blades at this place.

  • Rohtang Pass: This spot will take most of your day, it requires about 3-5hrs in travel depending on the traffic but its worth the wait.

Booking Tickets:

I opted for Bus travel and since it was my first time, I was confused which Bus service should I go for??

My experience is that all bus services are equally good, try going for private option as they are cheaper than government buses.

From Delhi to Manali I went with Govt Bus which was around 1700 bucks and for the return journey I booked Zing Bus which was 1300-1400 bucks.

The journey takes about 12-14 hours and depending on the season take precautions, because as soon as you step out of the bus in mid December, the breeze will hit you so hard (personal experience lol).

Hotel:

Pre Book your hotel. It's hard to find rooms when it comes to Holiday season. Everyone suggests to look for a hotel nearby Mall Road but I don't suggest that when it comes to Manali. Look for a Hotel in old Manali it will cost cheap and you can also experience the local transport. Local buses commute all the time from Mall road to old Manali and it just costs 10 rupees.

I went for an expensive Hotel but cheaper are also available. Any hotel which costs around 1500-3000 per night will provide all necessary amenities.

The Hotel I stayed at was Monarch Manor.

If you want to cut down your costs more, you can also look for Hostels, it's room sharing and works well for solo travelers but not recommended for families.

Travel:

You will have to book cabs for travelling to nearby locations, try negotiating to the drivers. It should roughly cost about 1500 for Solang Valley and 2k-3k for Rohtang Pass.

You can also engage in activities like Skiing and Ropeway.
